He wants to be able to put the running boards back on in the future to assist others in getting into his 4Runner. He has a valid reason for wanting to make them removable (I also tried talking him into welding them).

Suggestion:
Cross-drill appropriate size hole and use one of those locking trailer-hitch bolts - you know... the kind that holds the actual ball and hitch extension to the hitch itself in a class iii?

Might look ugly - and I don't know if you'll have the room but it should hold and be strong enough to support the weight of the entire vehicle.

Change your oil hot and often.

Hi Sam,

First off, I/we missed you at the Jamboree this year. I hope whatever your girlfriend had planned for you was worth it!

Also, I totally understand Ziad's desire to be able to reinstall the running boards. Since I already have a dent in one of mine, they don't offer much resale value. So, when I get my sliders, I am hoping that I will be able to leave the sliders in place and reinstall the running boards. I could simply cut the plastic trim piece of the running board to fit around the slider supports. It would definitely make it easier for people to get in and out of the truck.

Hope all is well with you. How is your LC coming along?

It looks like I have a similar style of sliders from allpro. People use the sliders to help get in and if there not carefull, they will rub there leg across the slider and get a little dirty <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> w/o realizing it.
It looks like to me from the first picture, the sliders are slieved. Are you going to weld that sleive to the frame. Is this correct.
