Classic example idiots F*$#ing it up for everyone. I am 34 and have been going to livingston since i was 10. On everything from old willys jeeps to dirtbikes and of course my toyota. I can not count how many times you would see some liquored up retard toting his "girlfriend" on an 4-wheeler, no helmet, no shoes, no brain. I hate to bash a particular group of off roaders but this really took off when 4-wheelers became so popular. this is also the same type you would see "changing" his oil, letting it drain right into the ground. maybe the situation we are in now will keep it from being closed all together, i hope i can figure out a way to get my dirt bike street legal. the next time you are at your favorite offroad area and you see some jackass acting irresponsible speak up!, they actually are ruining it for everyone.

Nope, no camping allowed. I went just a few miles on down and stayed at Laurel River Lake at one of the USFS campgrounds. There's also state parks close - Levi Jackson and Cumberland Falls. The Shellowtree Trace Trail (the one under "improvements") should allow you to go from Livingston to Holly Bay campground (about 60 miles or more of trail). It shows as the road between #4095 and #1596 on this map. BTW...Maynard and Junior told me this map was not accurate. There's a map posted at the motocross track in London that highlights the legal trails (though I didn't go look at it). I wanted to "map" my own using this map as a basis but gave up - I suck at it. Hey Brent! It was silly watching some of the dumba$$es loading up during the "exodus". It seem most of them had to rip off thru the woods in one last protest before turning around to load on a trailer. I did get to see a classic - a bunch of <18 yr olds loading a POS Bronco on a trailer. (I had to sit and watch them cuz the morons chose to pull their trailer crosswise the main road so no one could pass). They would pull the truck on the trailer and the steering was so shi&&y that the wheels would drop off the trailer (when you put a 9' wide truck on a 7' wide trailer ) After the fourth time of doing this, the punk driver decides he's going to display some of his awesome potential of his 351 Windsor, and nails it when he is cresting his 2x8 ramps (nice PT lumber though...). The ramps break like toothpicks, the ass end of the Bronco drops, the nose goes rocketing into the southern KY sky, and in slow motion all the punk's friends scatter as the Bronco does a "sit up and beg" then proceeds to jerk and flop on it's side - mainly due to the punk keeping that fine V8 floating it's valves while spinning one wheel from the open diff. It was classic Darwinism in action.

You said it was open, then you said they were making everyone leave, which one is it. I tow my rig as a 5:29 with lockrites would not run to good on a 3 hour highway run. Is it open to camping and running or not? Read closer....he said it was open to anyone with a street leagal vehicle, like yours. It's only closed to ATV's, dirt bikes, rail buggies, ect ect that would not be legal to drive on the highway. No, camping is now prohibited.

I used get as much entertainment from the idiots as i did from the riding/4-wheeling, until i realized..these idiots are going to get this place closed down. Thanks for the update Wyatt it was good info, and not from a guy who talked to a guy that has a cousin that used to know a guy that said it was closed. BTW that bumper I got from you looks pretty good on the bone stock grocery getter...

That does suck, I have been going there for 15 years. All the guys on bikes and quads that I run around with wear helmets and know how to ride. Well my trailer queen is street legal, but if you can't park the tow rig I guess you can't go. That picture of the crack is called the stairsteps.

I'd just park your tow rig at the stations below and drive up. You shouldn't be hassled if you're legal and driving on public roads. Most people who camp also trailer something in, and it makes them prime candidates to get hassled by the man ...

That's too bad. I haven't been in a while, but I love the place. We use to camp, dirtbike, ride my friend's buggy, and 4wheel in trucks. It's too bad it's just open to street legal trucks now.
