Hey guys. I installed my 5:29s on Labor day. (finally). The install was done by a good friend of mine whos been doing gears on his sons rigs for years now. Well now when I drove the vehicle on monday I was/am getting a very loud whinning/howling sound. It pretty much sounds like Im being followed by a small plane. That and the rear end smells like gear oil pretty bad. I did my best to put the driveshaft back to original position (if that matters). So I just got back from Vegas and my friends been driving it around to see what the sound is actually coming from and how to fix it, and he still getting the noise. BTW there Sierra gears. What do you guys think?? Botched job?? Im using 90 weight for the gear lube, some generic brand. How can I get this thing to shutup! And I pray nothing to major, if not were gonig to redo it Sunday.
