I have to agree with Darin in the 2nd post. I put pistons, rings, bearings, & had block checked. Now the lower end is good for at least 100,000 miles.I installed new factory head, with new valves, springs, etc. And a new low torque cam(if there is such a thing) with fresh chain, guides & oil pump. Headers, msd ignition, wires, etc., 2.25 exhaust with flowmaster. I polished & ported myself. It now has 3yrs & 45,000 miles. Read 4Crawlers write up on his engines & you will learn alot of trial & effort goes into this setup. I've been able to cross appalachians several times loaded,& had no problems. I changed to mobil 1 @ 10,000 miles & I've had no problems. It has never left me stranded & it IS easy to work on. It does'nt have the power of my chev#$*^# but it gets me where i"m going just as quick. I love my toy & it will stay original the rest of its life & mine.I have all receipts & total is $1,643. Just my opinion on the 22RE. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
