A little off subject, but anyone have any bright ideas for keeping the metal spark plug connector connected to the lead when removing the wires. Never fails, when I replace the wires, connector =stuck on plug=B I T C H.

I use AUTOLITE SUREFIT already assembled. You are probably aware that my plugs are 6" deep inside my valve cover. Just enough clearance to get a socket in. They have a plastic extension which houses the connector on top of which sits a rubber plug to seal out the bad stuff. If they made the set-up one piece i wouldn't have this problem. The rubber part slides off the plastic part and the wire comes out with it. I put a gob of dielectric grease in the end of the extension(plugside). They come from the manufacturer with some but not much.

I've seen, I think, STREETWIRES makes a solid one piece unit but not for my truck. If I could get one of those to work that would be great.

I've never had this problem with factory wires. Are you trying to remove the boot when the engine is hot? If so the sealant/glue that holds the wires and boots together will be hot and that's probably why you're having problems.

I like that idea thanks. I'm normally iin a hurry. It always happens when I try to do the job after school and before work...just enough time to get it done if everthing cooperates. They usually don't.
"MMMMM...new wires"
