Did the seatbelt mod when I had them removed during the body lift. They actually work alot better now. The passenger side was tricky as the autobrake mechanism is different. I had to drill a small hole in the plastic housing and hold the stop tab down to allow the cam to pass when tightening the spring. This will make sense if you try the mod. I also soaked the belts in soapy water for a day to clean them up, as I could not remove the drivers side from the mechanism due to the small slot. I definately recommend this mod. Its a lot cheaper then replacing the belts.

Hi
If not too late, would you email me with seat belt instructions. Recently purchased a '96 t100 extra 4x4 with the common belt problem.
Thanks

Getting the Wheeling Fever
In case anyone has been putting off the seatbelt replacement due to all the disassembly there is an easier way!

I just did it yesterday by removing the door sill trim and the lower front seatbelt anchor. I then very carefully flexed out the back side panel plastic at the lower front corner to have just enough room to unbolt the racheting mechanism. I removed the belt, wound up the spring and put everything back together.

It helps if you do this on a hot day so the plastic is more flexible. I live in Miami (88 yesterday) so it was not a problem!

Good luck to all,
Candido
