i did the fan conversion in my 89 extra cab and noticed a gain right away...the reason i did mime was becouse the " fan stand" bearings locked up on me and killed the engine...after looking forone at a junk yard i found out that that is a common problem withthem so i didnt want to have the same problem over again..so i took the original siezed fan stand and cut it behind the bearing housing so my belts wouldnt rub after pulling the fan off the stand and remounting the fan stand to cover up the timing belt...worked great for me...
