I think the reason you were turned away is because they only allow a certain number of vehicles in. Once they "fill up" so to speak they begin turning people away. I have seen 2WD vehicles in there, however I wouldn't reccommend it. It is fun to watch all the crazy's fling mud though so I can understand you wanting to check it out.
