Body Damage is Cool
My 95 trooper had the ergo (aka severly bent) trailing links. Also, I know a couple of other guys that have bent bars. I will not call any names, but they know who you are. From what I've seen, if your rockers are bent, then most likely the links are as well.

i got my lift in the begining of this year - that is the trailing arms (from the frame to the rear axil) and the 'tract bar' or what i've always read the 'panhard bar'. the rodeo and the axiom are supposed to be the same but the front a-arms are a little different.

I kinda feel stupid but the calmini part is actually
the trackbar/panhard bar it goes from frame diagonilly
to the rear end on Drvsside it controlls movement of rear to keep it centered. When I looked at the pic I said cool
but then noticed it was not a suspension link. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> This medication I'm taking for the

I think what you guys are talking about are actually suspension links and not traction bars. Traction bars are usually an add on for leaf sprung vehicles to cure problems with axle wrap.

Yep, you are right. My exposure to my muscle-car buddy taught me that term.

Anyways back to the topic. Its funny Gilbert was just over at my shop on tuesday night and we were having a conversation on this very topic. He's had a lot of problems repeatedly bending his lower links and was looking to have beefier ones made. I told him I could do it for him, but I'm wondering if there are others that would be interested in them. I know I've seen a number of late model troopers bend links (I watched Bruce bend his in moab last year I think). They would be easy enough to replace with something stronger but I've yet to see anyone do it. So is anyone interested in seeing these get made?

I dunno, haven't bent one yet (see my previous post on this thread). But if I did, I would be all over stronger ones from Stinkyfab... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Mods, I hope i'm not breaking any rules by asking this, but if there is a problem let me know and I'll delete it.

No problem, Dallas -- this fits nicely as 'market research' and is a great use of these forums... we hope to see more products developed for Isuzus!

Tera Lows and ARB 10-bolt lockers have proven the merit of this approach...

Well, I certainly have bent my bars. In fact, on Golden Spike this year I nearly put a 90 degree angle in the driver's side link, pushing the rear tire into the fenderwell. (I think on Zuki Hill???)

With everyone's help, a hi-lift, floor jack, and bottle jack, we bent it back into "shape". It looks like a gnarly walking stick now.

Beefing up the links is definitely on my list. Thicker tubing (wall thickness), larger diameter, with a bend toward the rear for clearance.

Rocker panel damage? What rocker panels? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

how bout some custom bent, thicker wall arms w/ heim joints? would provide for more flex, longer life than a bushing, right?

Actually I'm looking into whether or not I could use an RE joint on them. Much stronger than heims, longer lasting, rebuildable. Sounds like you guys want links with a bend in em so I'll have to look into that as well. Probably using 1.5" 3/16" wall tubing, definitely a heck of a lot beefier than the stock pieces. I'll keep you updated smile
