Well, I certainly have bent my bars. In fact, on Golden Spike this year I nearly put a 90 degree angle in the driver's side link, pushing the rear tire into the fenderwell. (I think on Zuki Hill???)

With everyone's help, a hi-lift, floor jack, and bottle jack, we bent it back into "shape". It looks like a gnarly walking stick now.

Beefing up the links is definitely on my list. Thicker tubing (wall thickness), larger diameter, with a bend toward the rear for clearance.
