Same here. I gave up after breaking a ratchet using a pitman arm puller. Grinded it to the point where you could see a stress crack down the middle, and then it pulled right off. Just be VERY VERY carefull you don't grind the splines on the steering box shaft. Take your time. Here's how it looked:
