I'm using the Denso filter made in Japan, which is longer than the economy OEM filter at most dealers and, according to a cruiserhead, has much better media inside, has a self-lubricating gasket. It's for the 2UZ-FE, new 4runner V6, 22re (and probably the 1FZ-FE). Not sure about the 3.4L V6.

90915-yzzb5 filter for v8 tundra and LC. this one will fit perfect on 3.4L engine. I think the new filter -yzzb9 will be better on 3.4L engine. this new filter is also japanees made. It looks exacltly the same original oil filter coming from the factory. try it guy.

I've been using Fram ToughGuard for quite a while, my poor truck... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> I've been thinking of switching to K&N. Any one have any data on them?

The two best oil filters on the market are AMSOIL and Mobil 1 in that order. Everything else is far behind.

There are a lot of good filters. If you steer clear of the Frams, it's probably pretty hard to find one that's really bad. Using a stock type filter on a Toyota though, I'd stick with OEM. The internal constrution is unique and looks like it would be very effective...
