There are a lot of good filters. If you steer clear of the Frams, it's probably pretty hard to find one that's really bad. Using a stock type filter on a Toyota though, I'd stick with OEM. The internal constrution is unique and looks like it would be very effective...

2000 4Runner SR-5, 4X4, 5 Speed, Toyota locker.
