912's, 913's, 919's, And Amount of Lift #327265 10/08/03 12:44 AM

I have read about several different types of rear springs from ome.

912's are a 3" lift
913's are a 2" lift
and i see bob large has 919's and 35" tires

I would like to go more for a 3.5" lift so I will have better luck fitting slightly larger tires and clearing things. Is there other springs for our isuzus other than these 3?

What springs would I need to order for a 3.5" lift and will I be faced with any other problems than a normal 3" lift?

------EDIT
I just found Indy4x Coil Spacers - I guess I could just use this along with the "complete" Indy4x 3" lift right? This would mean 4" in the rear but I would still like to crank the front only 3.5" - so same question as before - will this cause any new problems not solved by the 3" lift? (like shock length, lines,ect)

Thanks!

Well look at my wifes rodeo it's running 912's + 2"
coil spacers and it is atleast 5" if not 6" over stock with just suspension.Your upper drvrs.suspension link will
not clear your gas tank,your etc... your etc....look at
my post about a 98 finally flexing to get an idea of
what your after it is a lot bigger in person than you would
think.Tire/rim width/back spacer or offset mean more than lift amount.My .02
is that you can fit the same size tire in the wheel well
dimensions with or w/o a lift.You will have to trim the fenders,and choose your rims/shocks/bumpstops with care.
The fenders are only so big.We have all the lift in to raise center of truck higher than lower ball joints
and 3" b/l to keep rockers and more importantly her running boards on there.You can get alot more travel out of the rear with a little work.
Doug
p.s. don't forget your fender openings are the smallest from C/L of hub to cab edge of all rodeos'etc.

I had 912s on my 01 Trooper and it got me a little under 2" lift(1.5" on paper). I swapped them out for the 919s and I'm pretty sure it's atleast 1" higher than the 912s. They are suppose to be the "HD" versions of the 912s. It's def. a harder ride(plus I went from RS9000 to OME "HD" shocks) but it made the Trooper feel better when turning as it sways less so for me it's a good compromise. I'm wondering since the Rodeo is a little lighter than the Trooper, the 919 might be too stiff.

I don't know about the 913s but I'm told they are similar height to the factory Trooper Coils(IIRC the 913 give the Rodeo 1+" give or take on a rodeo). Paisan at planetisuzoo.com has his factory coils FS. I have my 912s still and my stock coils so if you want unmounted measuremetns, let me know.

Cheers,
Con

Ya, IÆve got a set of 919's, and without anything in the back to weight me down itÆs got about 3.5" of lift but that with a billet aluminum spacer. About 2" thick. See pics. But there really just stiffer than the 912's not so much taller. So there is a sag issue if your rig is heavy and you have the 912's. [Linked Image] [Linked Image] webshots

Thanks for the Info.

Will I run into all of those problems Bansil described if I put on 913's with a 1" spacer?

This setup would yeild a 3.5" lift on my rodeo right?

Don't take me wrong,those springs will fit i just got
more lift for whatever reason the Isuzu god's had.
Those springs are for Troopers there is variation betwween
all trucks.If you run stock lenght shocks with that combo you should be ok.But if you intend to push your suspension
(2" spacer)
than yes you will need those parts to reach maximum
travel (without popping the coils/spacers out).My
Ideal rear susp. would be 30"shocks w/14" travel and move
upper shock mounts up 2-3".That will let me stuff tires
w/o rubbing fenderwells as well as letting it droop
w/o taking pressure off of coilers.I will install
~~~? johnny joints,etc. this winter cause stock
rearend/driveshaft can soak up 14+" of travel.
More with custom coil-overs.
Good luck if you have any ??? P.M. Me
Goodluck Doug
You'll obviously be needing to do manually locking hubs up front with the kind of lift you're talking about so you're not replacing your CV's every 30k miles.
what parts does he need so he's not popping his coils out?
Hud I don't think you understood what I meant.
I would need longer coils to not pop them out.
I will probable secure coils at the top and "make"
a "funnel" on top of the lower spring mount to let the coils
move a little,but when suspension settles back down the
coils will align themselfs again.I am kinda braking new
ground alittle bit.The parts I think you are refering
to are the parts I made to let the rear suspension
move/flex more.
Sorry this post got O/T alittle The big issue with 2gen rodeos with 912's and a spacer either 1"/2" is the gas
tank is in the way.The upper arm driversside link (in the
rear) will hit the gas tank when suspension moves down
on driversside with 1" spacer and 912's.With a 2" spacer
you will not be able to let it off the rack/jackstands
because the drside link will be sitting on the gas tank.
I had to compress rear suspension 1" and put stock shocks
back on to hold the suspension down and not let it hit tank.
I had to make an upper link that cleared the gas tank to be able to use a longer shock.
The Amigo's/Rodeo sports have a gas tank that is notched out
to clear upper arm the troopers tank is elswhere so those
vehicles do not have clearance issues.I hope this cleared up your questions once again sorry for going O/T
