do a search on the pirate board - www.supracharged.com (i think) has the answers , picture of modded oil pickup etc. - i beleive a 2" body and driveline lift will work with out modifying the oil pan on the 7m engines. skinner

I've never done this, however I know a bit about the M series engines and have researched this extensively. Toyota put these engines into cars usually sporty cars so they needed a low COG, because of this there are several different oilpans that were used depending on the crossmember etc. I believe (please anyone correct me if I'm wrong) that there are 3 different oilpans that will bolt up to any M series engine. Research which one you will need and choose accordingly. All of the M series blocks are the same untill the turbo block which is different inside but outside is the same.

A 2in body lift is all you should need to make it fit. I would look for a 7m or 5m from a cressida as it is likely not too abused and behind an auto you don't have to worry about it being regularly shifted at 7grand (which is more then possible with a stock M series). Whatever engine you go with I would also do a mild rebuild: seals, gaskets, maybe even rings etc. The motors are great engines however at this age they sometimes develop problems in those areas. All of that should take you a day or less with the engine out though, they're quite easy to work on. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
