New Exhaust Mod for my 2003 4Runner #329574 10/11/03 12:52 PM

Yesterday I modified my stock 2003 exhaust termination from straight out the back to behind the rear passenger tire. I did this in hopes to solve the problem of exhaust gases and more importantly the exhaust smell from entering the rear cargo area with the rear window down.
Well, my solution has worked. The problem I had was when I punched it from a dead stop or when passing someone with the rear window down I would get a nasty stench in the cabin for a few minutes until it aired out. Now after this mod that problem has been solved.
It's great to be able to cruz with all the windows down and no more smell. Check out the link below for some pics and see what you think.

Gadget told me even with side exit exhaust, fumes will still enter the cabin. Just because it isn't noticeable, doesn't mean it's not there. I never roll my back window down anyomre because I'll get a headache within minutes.

Remember, the fumes you can't smell can also kill you. Never ride with that window down for long periods of time.

I am aware of the dangers but this new setup really, really reduces the affects of the stock setup. It's just noce to not have the stink anymore. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
