Just a quick question that I'm curious about. I test drove a 94 4Runner the other day and noticed this button. It was on the far left side of the dash, and it said "clutch" and 2 other words that escape me now. When I pressed it, it lit up and wouldn't turn off until I turned off the engine. My seat didn't shoot through the roof , and I didn't notice anything else happening. What's it do? Thanks, Ben

it's the clutch cancel switch. press that in and you don't have to depress the clutch in to start the runner. it can also help in offroad situations where the engine stalls, you stuck on an incline, and you need both feet for the brake and accelerator pedals to start your truck. but i hard people also have left it in 1st and used it to moved the truck out of a bad incline or something.

Thanks for the quick answer! I'll have to remember that switch in case I stall on a RR crossing! Not buying the one I looked at the other day though, since the seller's idea of a $6k "excellent" condition vehicle includes oil leaks, disappearing coolant, and a fair amount of rust . Since he said the radiator and head gasket had been replaced recently, the disappearing coolant was what really scared me away from that one, with the rust being a close second. Thanks again for the explanation, Ben
