I'm also having a similar problem. My idle has been wandering between 600 and 1000 rpms. I also have a problem with bad hesitation after the truck has been shut off and restarted. My plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and tps are all new. I've checked and cleaned the egr too. My idle now stays between 800 and 1000 but the hesitation thing still happens after it sits for a short time. Wish I cold offer more.

My 87 4Runner Turbo has a situation when the truck is shut off for 20-40 minutes and then started back up, the idle is real low and feels like it wants to stall. I checked my temp sensor, the O2 is new, the AFM checked out fine, I added the Jacobs Omni-Pak and no difference, new plugs, new wires, new air filter, new timing chain and guides, set the valves and it still happens. It makes me think it's a fuel related issue like a leaky injector or the temp sensor says the engine is still warm, but inside the engine, it has lost some of the heat and causing the rough or weak idle. I'm leaning toward the sensor giving bad information to the computer but I don't want to waste money replacing the wrong component. This seems to be a very common situation. If anyone has replaced or rebuilt their injectors and it didn't help, let us know. It only takes my truck about 2 minutes before the normal idle returns.

I am getting ready to pull my intake off and have my injectors rebuilt. Also going to do the plenum and throttlebody cleaning as well. Good luck and keep us posted! Maybe together, we will be able to figure our problems out.

Anyone got a real high idle. Mine's idles around 1500 cold and once given a little gas 1800 and 2000. Only once in a while will it idle around 1000.

Just wanted to bump this to see if anyone has solved the problem. I've been through the first 58 pages of the site so far, and haven't found the answer. Sid's Toy's post is identical to my buddy's problem. I've also done everything else listed in this thread as far as testing. The problem may be that the engine was rebuilt, and the vacuum lines were screwed up. This is on my buddy's '91 22-re w/AC. I have a access to the Haynes manual (not really a help), and have found several different vacuum diagrams. Unfortunately, none of the vacuum diagrams have all of the vacuum ports that are on the air chamber showing. Anyone have any links to other good resources?
TIA.

Dave
