Hey guys, I replaced the front parking brake cable on my '94 4x4 and now have a problem! I couldn't get the cable out of the handle because there is a little metal tab on there that prevents the handle from spinning all the way around in the shaft so I couldn't turn the handle enough to remove the end of the cable. I thought the little metal thing would screw out so with my pliers... broke it off <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />. So my dilemma is how do I fix that and also once fixed, how does the cable insert into the handle anyway? Thanks!

It's like a pin right? Drill it out and put a roll pin in the hole.

That pin just activates a switch to turn your parking brake light on/off. Pull the handle out a couple of inches and turn about 1/4 turn to the right(?). You should be able to see how the cable is attached.

Thanks for the replies guys! The housing that the e-brake handle is in only has a small opening, just big enough for the pin. When i rotate the handle, the end of the cable is then hidden in the housing. I don't know how i'm gonna be able to replace the pin and then be able to get the cable back in. I don't want to have to take the whole thing apart! Thanks again for any help!
