we know it'll need a drop pitman thingy... and a nice little cv front drive shaft

A dropped pitman arm is a band-aid at best. Hi steer conversion is the right way to do it.

Also a CV needs to go on the rear shaft, not the front. The idea behind a CV is to eliminate driveshaft vibrations at highway speeds. Unless you're driving on the road with the hubs locked in and the transfer case in 4WD, it's a waste of money. Front driveshafts are also long enough that they don't see the bad angles that result from lifting.

oops...left out "and"... heh...drop pitman arm and cv...AND front driveline as we broke ours out on the trail..heh

we are going to go with the drop pitman arm as that is what we have seen on all of the lifts we've looked at...we can always change it later thats half the fun of fixing up the jeep...

as for the front driveline not seeing the angle I would disagree looking at it the front axle cannot be angled to help compensate for the angle as the back can...this makes it see more of the angle even though it is longer...

as far as cost...really has only been $100 for the drop pitmant...brake lines will be $100 replacing all the lines having them made to the new length...front driveline is a cost we altready had regardless of the lift..heh...and the CV will be about $250 ish...over all really not bad $450 + the cost of the new driveline that we'll have made to better fit the new specs when we have the cv done for the back...we're looking at about $650...not too bad...and everthing is still able to be put back to spring over and a shackle lift if we dont like it...so no biggy...it's a jeep...it's ment to be played with

The most interesting thing I have learned is this:

Everyone has their own oppinion on the whole idea!
