check engine light, odbii code p1441?

98 rodeo v6, 67k miles
my check engine light come on and i had the local parts store pull the odbii code. it read p1441 which is evap system flow during non-purge. what does this mean and what should i do? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Sounds like just a matter of a loose or leaky gas cap. Lots of time the check valve sticks open on'em. About 2 bucks for a new aftermarket one. You have to maintain positive pressure in the gas tank on OBDII compliant vehicles for the evap system to work- or the CEL will come on. G/luck Joel

my wife said my three year old had the door to the gas cap open the night before. maybe she loosened the cap as well. anyway, if the cel returns, i'll replace the cap. thanks.
