I paid $700 a couple years ago for a '76 Cherokee that had a freshly rebuilt 401 in it. I'd say I just about stole it. Builder 401's can go for as high as $500-$750. Look around and see what others with similar vehicles are selling them for. I know there aren't a lot to compare with though.
