You really don't need to go too crazy with the mods just yet. Find a local 4x4 club in the area you are moving to and go on a few runs with them. See what they might suggest for a few quick mods and get some wheeling under your belt. You will find that your Trooper is pretty efficient in a near stock set up. The first mods I would do, and am planning to do as soon as the money comes in, are Old Man Enu 919 rear springs and cranking the front torsion bars. This should give you two inches of lift and you should be able to fit 33 inch tires without any rubbing. After you get a few bumps under your belt then go crazy, or as crazy as you can afford.
