Ladies and Gentlemen;
I've been lurking here for about 9 months with nothing to say, but enjoying the forum. But now I need a piece of information from the trooper informed.
My 2001 trooper ABS suxx. I almost hit a roadside marker because I pulled off the pavement onto a wet shoulder to allow an ambulance to pass. Normally, I'd have slowed down in plenty of time to stop before the E-vehicle passed, but the ABS effectivly turned off my brakes so, not only did I not slow down so the e-vehicle didn't pass me in time, but the roadside marker came up so fast, I thought I would have to re-enter the road in front of the e-vehicle to avoid the marker. I resolved to hit the marker about the time the e-veh passed and was able to avoid both.
Question: Where is the disconnect for the ABS? Is it illegal to disconnect it? Can my local Isuzu dealer or other "tune" the G@#D&^amed thing down?
When I step on the brakes, I expect to get a response. What good is it to avoid a slide if I'm going faster than the car in front of me?
Sorry if I sound stressed. Maybe next time I'll post a more amusing thread...Like next spring.
