Check this trip report: - http://www.offroad.au.com/portersreport2/There's a trail Swartzy can get his teeth into, I only know of one Pajero to do it without winching (Gen 1 lwb, twin lockers, 33" Simex centipedes). Pity it's closed now but if you know the right people can be guided through it. Porters Rd is in the outskirts of Sydney in the state of New South Wales.
I just luv my "clacker Jabber".................

Port Germein is about 240km north of Adelaide. The fishing is quite good up there, so I hope he's got a boat! It may be a bit of a shock for you. The temperature would have been about 38C (around 100deg F) over the last couple of days. There is some beautiful country up there. A little further north are the Flinders Ranges. We go camping up there when ever we can, but it's now starting to get quite warm, and you can't have a camp fire in most places. ( It doesn't seem to be the whole camping experience without fire to sit around at night) I'm sure you're uncle will be able to show you plenty of sights.

Good to see you made it! Hope the locals are making you feel welcome. A couple of beers, and you'll forget all about the jet lag!

Hello I'm flying off to Sydney and will try to fly to Cairns tomorow, maybe I will call you Craig, maybe you could help me with finding a hotel or just show me around? If it goes, the plane lands at 21:15. Is it any puplic transport there?

Well fellow forum members I can let you know that Mr Nitteberg made it. I heard from him last Thursday night (missed his post on the forum on 1st December) but unfortunately couldn't catch up with him until today, Sunday.
We picked him up from his accomodation this morning and did a bit of a drive up the coast to Port Douglas and the Daintree. No wheeling, but it was a nice day doing the tourist thing, cruising along the coast road stopping at a few beaches and taking in the view. My family and I enjoyed being able to share our part of the world with a 'forum friend'.
I believe he is winging his way home to Norway (via a couple of stops) early tomorrow morning.
Beaut to have you here Bjorn , you are welcome back anytime mate.
Craig
<-----p.s. I think he can vouch that the guy on the side who blinks a lot really is me.
