... Once, there was a "click" when the pedal was nearly all the way depressed. Clutch master was leaking. ...

so was this 'click' you speak of related to the clutch master leaking. i noticed that my clutch started 'clicking' last week. there's a little bit of oil on the driver's kick plate...my master cylinder is leaking. where is it located so i can refill it. and it the clicking because it's low on fluid or is something broken? it's an old truck and i'm not ready to put a bunch of money in it to replace the master cylinder. i'd be really happy if i can just get away with refilling it.

On the master cylinder, it's part of the clutch reservoir assembly. You can buy a rebuild kit or assembly for under $50. Hardest part is putting the linkage back together under the dash (tight spot). I remove the lower dash piece for a little more room. Yep, it'll trash your carpet and your floor pad, and both cost a little more, so might be work the trouble to get in there and take care of it.

Another problem with this that I've seen once in awhile out there, esp if you're a heavy clutcher, is that the bracket on the firewall gets cracked, and THAT is what you may be hearing. Hope that helps a few of you!! Break out the flashlight.
