well, after about 30 miles or so of driving it, there seems to be no problem. it drives like it usually drives.
i did use high temp RTV compound. that's what the insert package said to use. did i make some kind of mistake in doing so?

time will tell. if the package specified what you used then there are different brands of repair kits so this is probably just one i haven't seen before. i'm sure your'e fine. drive w/ impunity!

On my own Toy 22r, I ran it at least 7 years with a stripped hole, and the plug was...literally...no kidding...(AND it always passed the treadmill California Smog Check),with the plug turned in the hole 1/2 TURN! The plug color was always like the rest and was never fouled more than any of the rest.

I'm in the same situation with one of my plugs. Are these "kits" just called spark plug repair kits? And you can get them at most automotive places (Autozone, NAPA)?

heli-coil is a brand name, but like kleenex or xerox, it has become an everyday term...
yeah, it's a common repair so any good car parts place will have it. if not, tell them what you did and they should have the stuff for it...

Bringing back an old post? Well, since I was the original thread starter, I should post a follow up.
I have now driven 10,000+ miles since the thread repair. It seems to be holding up.
My truck passed the 200,000 mile mark today!
