Make sure you get the OBDII computer with the '98 engine.. this was during the transition years early in the life of OBDII engine computers in toyota.. see sticky thread at top of the forum and comments by Dr. Zhivago....

Make sure you get the OBDII computer with the '98 engine.. this was during the transition years early in the life of OBDII engine computers in toyota.. see sticky thread at top of the forum and comments by Dr. Zhivago.... The 98 ecu is not a direct swap into the 97 wiring harness there are pin-out differences. Your best bet is to just keep using your 97 ecu.
