Noooo, hopefully the answer is #1 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

It is very likely that if the timing chain broke, it was due to slack in the tensioner and guides. This would lead to wear in the timing chain cover which has a coolant passage in it.

Pull the timing cover and take a look at the back side of it. I'll bet you'll find that it has a hole torn through it.
