Here's a pic of my converted Prerunner finally. I've been meaning to put one on here for quite some time. If you look closely, you can see the manual hubs peeking out...this is the only clue. [Linked Image]

How do you sleep at night? LMFAO!! I'd have to have theropy if I caught myself wanting to eliminate the Rack and Pinion steering. Looks like you're doing an awesome job though! I just prefer IFS. I'm not a rock crawler. I'm one of them guys that likes to use inertia. I can drive a pinto with 4 slick tires more places than the average joe is willing to take his 4wd. LOL.

Everything bolts on. Your prerunner will even have the 4wd oil pan already. Once you get all the parts rounded up, if you're handy with a wrench it'll only take you about 4 or 5 hours to complete the conversion. Good luck

Sweet! Be sure and switch the labels and mud flaps to 4x4 instead of pre-runner! That is, unless, you wanna be sneaky with it, hehehe...

YOu know, I got the 4x4 mudflaps...but I think the plain ones look nicer. My tailgate still says prerunner too.

No, kidding? 5 hours for the conversion? Did anyone ever do a write up?

I've typed pages and pages of info on it and sent it to lots of people...but I don't have my own website to post it on. And I haven't taken the time to look and see about posting it on here. Perhaps I will. Mind you now, 5 hours is probably going to be a record time. I've been mechanic all my adult life. I love it and I'm good at it. When I made this conversion it was done in a very well equipped shop and I had ALL my parts already removed and staged for installation and I had all the correct tools. This could easily turn into a weeklong evolution for someone less prepared.

I work in a mechanic shop with a few guys that are really good or ASE certified so they know whats up. I'm ok myself, I've been working on cars for $$$ for about 2 years. So I'm positive we have all the tools and man power to put it together. Any idea how much it cost?
