ok....3 seperate problems, two possibly interlocking.
background:
'85 4runner, 22re, auto. rebuild not more than 500 miles ago, complete, bored over .030, crank ground .010, cam almost identical to engnbldr-
rv2 cam from them, hedman headers, flowmaster 50 series, and i was stupid enough to mess with the AFM (its almost positively at the original location, but i never resiliconed the lid so there is a chance of water damage..) new injectors, new injector side wiring harness, new fuel filter, new plugs, cap, rotor and wires. can't think of anything else, just ask and i'll tell.
problem 1: rear window doesn't go down. tried to open up the console switch, but the spring went to god knows where. So i scavenged a 2nd gen switch and its a plug-in affair. could wiring in the switches be different? I got a new-to-me circuit board (the driver side, beside seat belt retractor one), and wiper switch is NOT on, and wire IS plugged in on canopy, and the canopy bolt is contacting the sensor correctly. The key switch for the window doesn't work, as well. any ideas? oh yeah--the fuse isn't blown
problem 2: engine sounds fast, but is unbelievably not. i mean unbelievably, unremarkably not. i loose speed uphill, at the slightest inclination, with accelerator maxed out. I burn through incredible rates of fuel--about half a tank in about 60-70 miles. changed plugs once due to fouling out (autolites), and am about to r&r new ones (NGK) but dont feel like having those fouled as well. Am about to change fuel filter as well, just to double-eliminate a problem. and like i said, spankin new injectors, and cleaned out the TB, for s#!ts and giggles. help me diagnois, please!!
problem 3: possibly contributing to losing speed uphill and gas consumption, my auto tranny will not downshift unless a complete, or damn near complete stop is accomplished. never used to have this problem. still feels strong, kicks like a truck when i shift gears, but thats the only way i dont end up doing 30/40 going uphill on I-5, is by manually shifting. this is NOT a good idea on a rig that is 30k shy of 300k, on for as much as i know an OE tranny. Keep in my this rig is rolling on 31's, but i can never recall it being this much of a turtle before the rebuild. it was slow, but this is like golf cart slow .
hhellllp mmmeee! anybody willing to make the trip to Olympia, iv'e got an OK set of tools in an 11drawer rollaway, and ill supply the beer and good times, and reimburse for the gas to come on over. oh yeah, and ive got a couch for ya if it gets alittle lengtturns into an all nighter. thanks for the help in advance, guys!!
