Getting the Wheeling Fever
i just put on my body lift this weekend(wasn't as bad as i thought it would be) it looks awesome but there is is one problem my 33inch tires look really small. now i know that a 35in tire is the max that you can put on these IFS rigs and i know that Indy4x sells 5.38's pretty much for zu's with 35 inch tires but i was wanting some input on guys that run 35's with stock gears. THANX

What do you have? The 4 or 6 cyl? I wouldnt think it would be TOO bad. Still, I would rather upgrade the gears. BUT first thing first...we gotta see some pics!!

ooops... sorry i got a v6, i think i will probably have to get the gears cuz it's doggy with the 33's and the lower gears will reduce the stress on the clutch from a stop to a go, im trying to get a digital camera so i can post you guys some pics

Roll Me Over
I'd get the gears!

I ran 35's on my Rodeo w/ the stock 4.30's and 3.2L SOHC... and those 35's turned it into a pig. lagged considerably climbing the hills, struggling to stay with the flow of traffic. Good thing i only ran them for about a month or i wouldn't have been able to stand it much longer.

Body Damage is Cool
I've got 35's and stock gears , It's not as bad as you would think the only time that I had a problem is driving up mountain roads, I can still do donuts on dirt . I'm going to get 5.38's in the very near future. I'd say go with the 35's until you are able to get 5.38's, again it's not that BAD!!!!!

how is the strain on the clutch with your stock gears? there is this kid i know that has a big sas and soa trooper with like 38 14.50 tires on it and he really has to ride the clutch from a stop to a go. oh yeah he has a stock drivetrain and a stock 2.8

its not to bad... we still beat every body off the line at red lights( even though there not racing). I have over 270,000 miles on my 2.8L. don't get me wrong, you notice a difference , but it is not to bad . on a good road we can run a 80mph all day....the gas mileage sucks , but it looks reay good. we beat jeeps that had lke $20,000 worth of aftermarket parts, the other dat at paragon.

well i have been running 35's for about two months now and the only disadvantage is gas, and the up hill experience. not bad for a 2.6. other than that, my truck looks too cool with them on for me to take them off .

Well let me ask 2 questions. First, have you introduced him to this board? If not, well then at least get us some pictures and get him on board.
