I have a '90 Troop with the 2.8 and 33s. It is a DOG!!!! I have to ride the clutch to get it going, and I have no acceleration. I have to tach it up to 4500 RPM before shifting just to keep up with traffic... and the Interstate... Fuhgetaboutit!

When I bought this thing, it had 35" claws on the back and it drove like the hand brake was set!! (The idiot had 33s on the front cos the 35" claws scrubbed)

Remember, the difference between 33s and 35s is only 2 inches... one inch of lift, and one inch of fender filling.

Hope he never put it in 4WD with that kind of tire difference <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

One inch can be a long way though. One inch of clearance at the diff can be a life saver. 33 to 35 is a bigger difference in many cases than you might think.

i'm used to running 33's on my 2.6, but threw some of my friends 35s on just to see and it wasn't too bad although if i had kept them on with the stock gears i wouldn't have used 5th, i didn't really have to ride the clutch due to the low first gear on the trooper 5 speed
now that i'm running 5.38 i will buy 35 or 36 when the mickeys wear out
here's a pic of the 35s on 15x8 w/3" BL
