I have an Audiovox in my daily driver:
Cruise Control install

and it works well. Its adjustable for gain and sensitivity so you can dial it in to match the engine/vehicle characteristics. I'm halfway tempted to put one in my 4Runner. It has a separate connector that lets you splice into a factory cruise control switch, or you can run it off of its control panel.
