I took the propane to it this evening. It seems to be a small leak at the front of the butterfly shaft. I will have to remove the entire assembly and play with different sized o-rings in the groove of the front bushing until it snugs up tighter.

I sprayed the gas (unlit!) all around the intake parts, but every time I hit the front of the lower plenum, up went the idle, then it would fall back when I removed the nozzle.

i think nasa should get a propane torch on the next shuttle ........ its never the machine work its the seal job that causes all the trouble
