I like tomato soup with instant rice, frozen peas and a slice of wrapped processed cheese thrown in.

I make pizza from scratch a lot. About 1 cup of warm water, a pinch of cheap yeast, a teaspoon of sugar, 3.5 cups of hungarian high altitude flour and a taplespoon of canola oil makes an awesome crust. Spread it out on a pizza pan, cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.

Sauce is a 4 oz can of genaric tomato sauce, a pinch of oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, ground together w/ mortar and pestle, stirred into can contents.

2 cups of cheese, toppings of your choice, bake at 400* for around 20 minutes = tasty home made from scratch, cheap batchelor food!

Even in the dead of winter I can be found grilling chicken breast or steak outside over charcoal and wood chips with corn on the cob or baked potato.

I make killer chili and stew also, that will have to wait though.

That sounds dang good, may have to give your pizza recipie a go! I love to cook, but my talents are limited, plus cooking for one is a real PITA. I just make the usual stuff, roast, chili, grilling anything, and pasta of various types. I am a master of the grilled cheese though ;-) The only way I eat tomato soup is with grilled cheese and lots of oyster crackers. I'll tell you what is some good bachelor grub though, get some decent quality frozen burritos or chimichangas and a toaster oven, cook those suckers at 400 for 20 mins, grate some monterey jack or cheddar on them, melt it, then add salsa and optionally shredded lettuce and fresh green onions, it's the best $1.50 food around, I promise. I also buy 5lbs of lean hamburger at a time and a big bag of onions, also a couple cloves of garlic. Brown all the burger, add 2 onions per pound, add both complete garlic cloves/clumps whatever they are (crushed with my garlic press of course) and simmer it all together (I have a huge skillet but a pot will do). Then I bad it all up in 5 separate 1 Gal ziplocks and freeze it. I can make chili, pasta, or about 100 other dishes with that for the "base". The great thing is you can take some semi-crappy pasta sauce, add some of this, simmer it for 20 mins, and cook up the pasta (8 mins) and eat like a king in under 30 mins.

I must tell you all im not much of a cook BUT i can cook when need-be. One of my favorite meals is BBQ pork steaks, not much to it just to do it!

It's only myself and my g/f (and she's not a large meat eater) so we start with one large or moderately large pork steak

Add the following seasonings diligently (cant spell either)
Garlic Salt, Seasoning Salt, Mrs. Dash (original) and finally McCormick's Broil Steak seasoning salt (this has various peppers ect)

After i add all the spices i throw it on the grill (or george foreman depending on what time of year it is) I usually use Krafts "Brown Sugar" BBQ sauce or any sauce is fine of course, kraft's Brown Sugar is GREAT and its also thick so when it heat's up it'll still stay on the steak and cook with it not sliding off, i usually cook it for around 8-10 min's depending on how thick the port steak is (note: everytime i turn it i rub more BBQ sauce on it to get the full flavor!) Also as an added secret of mine i like to make little slices into the steak while it is cooking and rub the BBQ sauce into the cuts, it gives it much more flavoring

Sounds like alot of work but infact only takes maybe 15 min's at most, i usually bake a potato with it or maybe fry up some potato's with bacon and onions, hit's the spot everytime!

This is a top secret family recipe for pasta - perfect for cold days. It takes a little time but requires no effort.

Get a good stick of pepperoni - not the Hormel, but some genuine spicey brand. Get a 29-oz can of tomato sauce, DeLallo preferred but Hunt's will do. 8-oz can of tomato paste, Contadina is best. 1 lb of rigatoni, penne, or other "tube" pasta.

Slice the pepperoni into pieces no more than 1/4" thick, or less. Saute in a big sauce pan on med-high heat until the pieces are lightly browned on both sides and there is grease all over the bottom of the pan. Pour in the tomato sauce, fill the sauce can 1/2 full of water and pour that in. Spoon in the paste and stir it well so all of the paste mixes. Fill that can w/ water and pour into the pan, stir a bit more. Turn heat to high until sauce bubbles - then stir. If it immediately bubbles after stirring, you can turn it down to low and let it simmer, covered. Stir every time you need a beer. Cooking time depends solely on when your water boils for the noodles.

Boil your water and cook your noodles. Drain, and dump the noodles into the sauce, mix well, garnish with parmigiano-reggiano (or parmesan) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> and eat. Good Italian bread is required as well.

This is even better as left-overs since the sauce thickens considerably.
