Couple to go with Christmas dinner and leftovers:
Apple-Cranberry Crisp 8 x 8 pan
Topping: 1-1/2 c quick cooking oatmeal ¢ c brown sugar
1/3 c flour ¢ t cinnamon
1/3 c shortening 1 T water
Mixture: 1- 16 oz can whole cranberry sauce 2 T cornstarch
5 c thinly sliced apples
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Make topping in small bowl; cut in shortening, add water, stir until crumbly;set aside. Combine cornstarch with cranberry sauce in a pan on medium heat until sauce bubbles. Add apples, toss to coat with mixture.
Pour mixture into lightly greased 8 x 8 pan, sprinkle topping over mix.
Bake 25-25 minutes until apples are tender
Turkey Casserole Pie serves 6
¥ c bisquick 2/3 c powdered milk 2 eggs 1 t. parsley flakes
2 t poultry seasoning 1 c water 8 oz chopped turkey breast
1c chopped celery 1 c finely chopped onion
Preheat oven to 375dg. Lightly grease 10ö deep pie plate. In bowl, mix all but the last 3 ingredients, mix well. Add last 3 ingredients, mix and pour into pie plate. Bake 30-40 min or until knife in center comes out clean. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Herbed Bread Stuffing enough for 15 lb turkey
1-1/2 c chopped celery 1-1/2 t poultry seasoning
2/3 c chopped onion 1-1/2 t ground sage
2 c sliced mushrooms 12 c dry bread cubes (about 21 slices in ¢ö cubes)
¥ c butter or margarine approx ¢ c chicken broth
¥ t salt ¥ t black pepper
In large pot, cook celery, mushrooms, and onion in margarine until tender, stirring occasionally. Combine with bread and seasonings. Toss in enough broth to moisten without making sticky. Makes 9 cups of stuffing. See turkey cooking chart for times.
Hint: Precut bread cubes can be bought at the store
