I was in a parking lot when I heard a beautiful sound. It was a 94-95 4runner with just a simple exaust, It was a real deep sound not whinny. What is the best muffler that I can put on the 3.0L? I want to to sound good NOT like a 4 cyl HONDA CIVIC or some of them Ricer boys cars. I know it isnt a v8 but I want it to sound good by only replacing the muffler and tail pipe not the cat or manifolds.

I've had 40-series Flowmasters on a couple 3.0's and most folks think I've done a motor swap. I've even had some ask me if I had a V8 in there...
...till they see me going 60mph with my foot to the floor up Mt. Vernon canyon.

Ya the flowmaster series 40 has a good deep tone to it. I had one on my 2.7 Tacoma and it was great, not a too fast too furious sound. I will probably get one for my 4runner whenever money is pentiful

no muffler will give you the riceboy sound. what gives the sound to those cars is the giant tip that you see. a buddy of mine had one of those mufflers on a plain jane civic, but he hated the sound so he cut the tip off and it sounded deeper than stock but not like the car was farting.

First time a guy in the club showed up for a run in his 3.0 fired '88 4Runner with his new Flowmaster I thought he swapped in a frickin' vee-8. Schit it sounds good.

I had a Dynomax 'Hemi' SuperTurbo on my 90 4Runner and it sounded really nice and deep yet almost stock. Mine was a 2-1/4" IN/OUT and was something like 22" long.
