Well I figured out what was wrong with my Taco. Seems the bolts holding the tranny to the engine had started to come loose <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I thought I had used "red" locktite on them when I installed that tranny but I guess I forgot to (this will teach me <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> )

What ended up happening was the flex plate cracked. The cracks in the plate were casuing the knocking sound as the motor turned it and the squeel/vibration noise was from the flex plate vibrating under a load. This also casued my front main seal to leak too...

I tightenend the bolts up and the noise went away...

So, looks like I have to drop the tranny and change out the flex plate. I plan to change the front main seal at that time too. Got the parts for $150. Not too bad. Better than having to buy a new tranny or get the engine fixed...
