I just finished using this forums search archive and my brain is full <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

My 88 4-Runner is basically stock; a 3vze mated to an A340H tranny. The engine is weak and has bad compression, the tranny is okay but has a bad #2 speed sensor.

I have a brand new 3vze with 1,500 miles on it from a 95 4runner that rolled. I have had this engine in storage for years and I really do NOT want to put it in but right now I just don't have the time to swap in a 3.4 or my dream, the 7m-gte. So . . . Here are the questions; does the 95 3vze need different headgaskets? If the answer is yes then what manufacturer should I use? I also want to bail the auto tranny and put in an R150 F. I've done similiar swaps before so it's no big deal except I need to find a good used tranny/transfer so if anyone has this for sale please PM me.

Like I said, I really don't want to put this engine in my 4-runner, I want more HP <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> - How much do you think I could sell this engine for?

Last question; if you were in my shoes would you put some downey headers on the new engine? any other suggestions are welcome <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
