Hi folks. Been away for a while and happy to be back. I left my girlfriend to care for my 87 monty, actually she now claims ownership, and now problems arise. The monty does not want to shift into OD. Checked OD switch, OK. I dropped the oil pan and replaced the filter (old one was OK), the ATF looked and smelled OK. Checked temp. sensor, OK. Checked OD relay, not OK, smelled burned. Checked wire and connectors to tranny solenoid, OK. Replaced OD relay and test drove, no OD. Checked OD relay, burned again <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> Bypassed relay and provided 12V to solenoid, still no OD. My questions - can a faulty solenoid cause this??? How do I test the solenoid for proper function??
