heheh Lloyd, somewhere around here I have tapes of pretty much all of Moab, including the day we opened up the Golden Spike smile (with my open diff trooper no less smile

I have some shots of friend Frank Currie of Currie Enterprises and some other killer jeeps trying RockChucker on a damp day, no one could make it, but they gave it the college try LOL.

My favorite is the one I took on an area that's now closed where you drove a skinny little fin several hundred feet out to a cliff overlooking the Colorado River. This thing was sooo thin and rounded it was like straddling the thing more than driving it !! heheh in those days I drove one handed while shooting with one of the early HUGE vcr recorders in the other, pretty dicey with a stick smile

Anyway, first time I got out on that fin. I was known for playing classical music while I drove, it just seemed to fit the grandeur of the scenery, anyway, I came around the corner where you make your approach to climb up onto the firm then make a hard right to keep from going over..., Shubert's 'Ave Maria' running on the tape and as I nose up over the end of the fin and see the cliff on the other side...you hear this "HOLY S*&T!!" and the camera goes flying through the air to the passenger seat smile LOL. It's a funny bit but a true Kodak Moment at the time:)

Shame they made that area a 'wildnerness area' <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
crawling out that fin was practically a religious experience LOL.

I have some great memories of Moab, and tape smile including the cj5 that rolled over backwards twice on Lion's Back and DIDN'T go over the cliff, amazing stuff at Moab. Everyone should go smile

I havn't been out there in a few years, will probably go sometime next spring, maybe the week BEFORE the Easter Safari so I can see how many of the 'old' guys are still around. Going to try and get one of the 91's up on some sticky 33's or 34/10's in time to go.
