so the journey ends and a new begins. Last years winter (salt) destroyed my Rodeo's body regardless of my washings. To make many long stories short - The girlfriend says its got to go. (yeah i know, ditch the chick) I've put too much into it already (completely new exhaust minus headers, y pipe; radiator, complete rear end, new brakes, rotors, calipers, etc...) I keep telling her i'm just rebuilding it to new. Anyway, she mentioned the idea of me getting another Amigo, and I'm running with it.
Mid Atlantic crowd - would you mind keeping your eyes open for me? I've looked at vehicles before in College Park, Woodbridge, Winchester, Morgantown, Pittsburgh, York; so I don't mind a drive.
Looking for a good condition 94 XS (i assume they only had the 2.6) none of their *cough**cough* alternative colors or a 98 V6 (very reasonably priced) though i haven't yet to see what a 2.2 4 feels like. Not too picky but 4x4 a must Just a number would be great, but if ya feel like taking out another Zu for a drive and look it'd be much appreciated
Thanks, Matt

Can you say fly out to the west coast and buy one that has never seen the snow or salt on a road.

That's why we have the wang on our side; it's just too bad it's mandatory for them all to be 2 wheel drive down there ;
TXCO, thanks for the offer, but a drive down to Baltimore is a little different than a flight out of BWI. Trying to keep things within a 3 hour drive

May I suggest picking up a vehicle in Eastern Tennessee?
They will be rust free, in reasonable to good condition, and the hotels are very inexpensive. I reccomend that section of the country to anyone in the Eastern US looking for a car that isn't brand new and isn't a rustbucket either.

I drove a '98 4 cyl a few weeks ago near allentown PA. Found a '98 V6 for myself so I passed it up. Mileage was under 70k, 4WD seemed to function fine and was in nice shape except for a small ding on the rear quarter. It was for sale at a new car dealer's used lot priced slightly under 7k. If you want I'll get a newspaper tomorrow and see if it's still advertised.

Yeah, I've though about TN and KY, not out of the question. I work for a hotel so I can get rooms pretty cheap I've decided that if I do get a 98 it's going to be a V6

How about a '00 V6? Maybe more than you were looking to spend, but none nicer. I'd knock the cost of a plane tickout out here too off the price (up to $300). FS: my 2000 4x4 v6 AT Hardtop Amigo

There's one close to my fathers place in NJ. Don't know the year, but IIRC it's a 4x4 with 2.6L stick shift. It has the hard top & is in a realy good condition. I stoped once to check it out, but didn't have much time to poke around. The only thing i noticed it had a fairly new Borla cat-back exhaust on it.
Next time i'm in NJ i'll see if it's still there & if it is i'll get all the info & the owners phone # & PM you.
