ok guys sorry no pics yet but I will try and get some soon. but my question. I have been looking at wiring diagrams for fog lights I have 6 lights on my bumper. Yes I know it sounds like overkill but it look good (2) 7" 100W, (2) 3.5" 55W white, (2) 3.5" 55W Amber (it gets foggy here sometimes. And it looks pretty basic as far the 55W with a bosch relay. But I found a few references that for the 100W to use a solenoid. It seems a lot for 2 lights but I don't know, what do you think? What are you using? All will be on separate circuits and should I worry about firing them up all at the same time? Well TIA GUYS.

I have two 130 Watt KC's on mine and they came with a standard BOSCH type relay. Been running like this for over a year and no problems yet. Not sure why they say use a solinoid. >??<

I have 2x130W ProComp and regular relay. No problems at all.
2001 Trooper LS 3" lift,no more Rancho 9000RX, no more 4L30E transmission, ProComp 8" 130W driving lights, Surco roof rack (modified), 110V power outlet, Viair 380C compressor, CB/FRS/GPRS/HF/VHF/UHF Radio, 285/75/16 BFG AT/KO.

They're the same thing, but the solenoid is usually a little beefier. For what you're doing it'll be fine though, 100W is nothing. All they're saying is you want switched power (direct feed), not in series with one.

In Chula Vista, at the Auto Zone, you can buy the old style Ford starter solenoid for under $10.00. It is rated at 2400 watts. I run four (4) 100 watts and my high beams on for hours at a time with no problems. I did have a problem with the alternator, but that was from running on the beaches in Baja (salt water and alternators donÆt get along well)

dude, my winch uses ford solenoids, I think thats a little overkill. I'm running 3 procomp 130s on the blazer and felt that one relay might not take the load, so i just put a relay on each one individually with one switch to fire all 3 relays. So far so good no problems at all.
For your setup i'd run 1 relay for each pair of little lights and one for each of the big ones. even that is probably relay overkill, but it would be safe.

I have two 100w kc's and a regular relay. No problems yet, butI try not to run them for too long. (Makes the folks in front of me a bit edgy!))

the load on 2 100 watt floods at 12v is 16.67 amps. As long as the relay is rated 20 amps or better you should have no problem. Roy <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
