Ditto on the CV. My Taco does the same thing. I didn't clamp the CV boot tight enough and the grease is more or less leaked out. You should be able to pick up a left over SAS one for a couple bucks on the pirate board or for sale section. There is a guy in MD who just SAS'd who might have one available. I highly doubt it is the lockout.
