I got the starter out and it is the solinoid contact it is worn down to almost nothing. I ordered the solinoid repair kit from toyota yesterday they told me it would be here tuesday. I am going to do some scouting around some parts store with other kits and see if I can find just the contact until I recieve the one I need for the repair.

My solinoid contact is basically worn down like this guys:

Classic worn contact problem, I stock the contacts and can ship overnight if needed.

here are contacts,,,the big one on the left is to isolate my welder from the truck system,,,and the regular one just up and to the right of it is a standard ford seleniod,,,,easy to get too,,,,the only problem I had (didnt think it would be a problem) is getting the motor and seleniod to start right,,,I finally had to run 2 more relays to isolate the 2 so they would start at the same time...

Wilson 45-29-6521 is the part # for 4 cyl contacts, $3.00 for both. Couldn't imagine the 6 cylinder would be to much more if they are different?

Wouldn't think so; just 2 pieces of copper.

In my case Mr. Rollieyes I can walk down to the local NAPA (2 minutes) and pay $3.00 Can. for contacts that they have in stock. Or I can pay Roger $21 U.S./$27 Can. and wait 1 week+ for the contacts. If it is something you need right away why would you mail order them anyways? I guess I am not smart like you because I choose not to pay 9 times as much and wait 1+ week for parts.

Sure, if you can find them locally for less, then by all means get them. I mainly offer the contacts for those folks for whom that is not an option. You usually need only one contact, never more than 2, so at most its $14 for the pair, regular mail shipping included. I offer faster shipping options and also offer to take back unused parts if it turns out you order something you don't need. I know my local Toyota parts dealer offers no returns at all on electrical parts and charges several times more for the parts than I do.

Body Damage is Cool
Hey thanks 4 crawler for the info on the starter without most of the technical stuff on here I wouldn't have known better and bought a starter instead of fixing it myself.
I think it is great you offer the contacts and alot of other products like 1" and 2" Body-Lifts and stuff. Hell if I was closer I would have probably bought the contacts from you.
I did end up getting them local it cost me $10 for both contacts for my starter. The place I picked the parts up were from Auto Electric in Essex Jct, VT. They repair and upgrade starters and alternators.
I have to cancel my order with toyota now since it is all fixed now.
