Ask him directly... Protech profile.

The only questions I have is how is the adjustable spacer locked in place and does he think the spring seat is of sufficient thickness for aluminum construction (6061Al I assumed).

Here's some more reading: Adjustable Spacers.

Geez 90 bucks? Those guys with milling machines and lathes make a killing. If you're willing to wait a year or two after I buy my own machines, I can make them for you for a lot less.

Chitrod, to be honest, I don't think anyone here is running that spacer. It looks good, but I still have the same questions as I mentioned above.

Esun, our shop burden rate is $95.00 an hour. This is a 300 person, cradle to grave, machine shop / repair station. I recently was looking for an older Matsurra 760 twin spindle CNC mill to run in my garage. Total cost, including installation, $78,00.00 out if my pocket ! Even a simple Engine Lathe would run $10,000.00 to have tooled up and running. Any guy who has a shop and overhead to keep up with, I applaud them, it's tough. Don't take this personally, it certainly isn't meant that way, you're right, a guy that has his shop costs down can make nice bucks. However, having the responsibility of running a machine shop, it's a mutha.

If Protech did all the applicable research on these to make them work, then $90.00 isn't bad...

the only problem with that style of spacer (spacer on top of the spring pack) is that you have nothing to limit your downward travel since the downward limit is built in the shock. with this lift, you roughly add the amount of lift to your downward travel. this may sound great but you'll eventually destroy your ball joints. if you run this setup, add limiting straps!!!

trust me, i've seen this setup and i've helped replaced the ball joints and CV axles on these tacos/4runners.
