The check engine light is always on in my '94 Wrangler. I have replaced/cleaned all of the components that according to my "Haynes" manual the computer was referring to. Is there a way that I can reset this system? Anyone have any suggestions????

I have your answer, maybe you can help me out after, i asked a ? 2 down from yours regarding jeep lifts on my Cherokee, but about you reseting the system, yes it's very easy, disconnect the negative cable on your battery for 5 minutes, reconnect, and if the problem was solved by the parts you changed, your light wont come back on until something else is wrong. their you go. good luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I have tried that before and the same codes keep coming back even after I replaced the sensor. I'll try it again. Thanks.
I don't know if I'll be able to help you or not but I'm going to look at you post right now.

You only have to disconnect the battery for about 10 seconds or so and then it should reset itelf. Runn the engine around town for a bit and if ya can on the freeway for about 20 mins or so then stop and recheck the codes. Use the Jumper techniqe to get your codes. See if any new codes have poped up. What are the codes that pop up?

Okay, how do you use the jumper techniqe to get the codes?
I have just been getting the codes the way my "Haynes" manual says to.

You could always clip the wires to the light. No more problems.

Man, it's been a loooooonggg time since you could clear any codes by disconnecting the batt. Are you boys sure you can still do that in a '94 ?

That's good to know, because it didn't clear the codes in a '97 Grand Cherokee. I guess there's exceptions to every rule, no ?
