Contact this man, Greg Cozier. He lives in Barbados, where such convertibles Pajero's exist, along with turbo diesels. Greg runs a Clark Lift distributorship and does fleet maintanence on vehicles, as well as races rally cars. He knows motors, suspensions, and drives a LR Discovery 4x4 (diesel at that).
