For all of you who have shipped a 3rd, whats the best way to pack it and who should I send it with? I'm tryin to save the guy who bought it some money without creating a bunch of hassle for myself. Thanks!

I get a cheap Rubbermaid tub, and fill it w/ foam (Great Stuff may work too), then rivet the top on securely. Be Mr. Brown's friend and label the thing with the weight all over the outside.

Thanks for the suggestions. BTW- how does that half-SASed truck wheel? You starting a new wheeling trend

I've shipped a few and found that a good heavy cardboard box, just a little larger than the diff works well. Use a scrap of plywood on the bottom and even strap the 3rd to it, then fill the gaps around it with scraps of cardboard to make it a tight fit. Wrap with some good filament strapping tape and its good to go.
If the box is square and under 70 lbs. you'll avoid the $5 "Additional Handling" charge that UPS adds to odd-shaped or heavy items.

I have shipped 3 in the last 12 months. 5 gallon bucket with the lid, filled with foam, cardboard, etc. I also wrap the lid with bailing wire to hold in the little clamps. Wrap the entire thing with about half a roll of duct tape.

In the 15 years I've worked at UPS I've seen more 5 gallon buckets filled with contraband then 3rd members .Although I do recommend the bucket idea with foam, you will get charged $5 for additional handling.Unless you put the bucket in a box, boxes can go down the conveyer belt buckets can't.(FYI)
